Since it's still early August, Walt Disney World will host Halloween in 2022. Since we were in Magic Kingdom on the morning of the release—a rare occurrence for us—we decided to take a look at the Spirit Jerseys, MagicBands, tees, hats, and other Halloween-themed goods.
I'll show pictures of the Halloween 2022 merchandise already made available at Magic Kingdom, which is being sold in the Emporium and a few other chosen spots around the park as well as other Walt Disney World gift shops.
Note that this excludes products only available at the 2022 Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party; if there is interest, we'll update this weekend. Additionally, it's possible that this isn't the whole lineup given that supply chain shortages continue to exist, albeit to a very limited extent at this time.
I'll be honest with you: I didn't leave for Magic Kingdom this morning with the goal of publishing this article. I had no idea that Halloween-related items would be available today. I was essentially the only one who was unaware of this, judging by the group of vloggers, bloggers, resellers, and other "ers" that I'm probably forgetting.
Trying to find your way around Walt Disney World's gift stores might be uncomfortable even on a typical day. It gets significantly worse when new products are introduced or inventories are replenished and eBay pirates moor their ships and storm the stores. It's impossible to stress how horrible this is if you've never had the experience. On those mornings, I would typically prefer to watch two back-to-back performances of Beauty and the Beast: Sing-Along instead of going to the Emporium.
My true objective was to take pictures of the Main Street USA Halloween decorations, which I also somewhat succeeded in doing. I still needed nighttime photographs, and the sky was drab and the lighting wasn't quite right. So, I'll reserve it for tomorrow, when I can offer an update of higher quality, hopefully.
When most of the chaos had lessened after I had finished taking the outdoor pictures, I moved on to the Emporium and quickly took some pictures to share. My criteria for merchandise aren't as high, so I'll post those pictures today.
I'll include my fashion criticism with the photographs and prices of Halloween 2022 Walt Disney World products, which is especially helpful given that I typically dress like someone who is in dire need of What Not to Wear's advice. (Speaking of, if you see a knucklehead wearing a bucket hat in the background of vlogs today, please let me know.)
Having said that, let's look at what will be available at Magic Kingdom for Halloween in 2022.
Given the popularity of Spirit Jerseys, I've learnt not to discuss them openly.
To Disney's credit, these puppies are now providing greater value for the money, I'll just say that. They used to cost around $40, but the back of them merely read Walt Disney World, thus the price was roughly $40 per graphic. This one costs $74.99 but features every visual distraction imaginable. It's a tremendous steal at $20 per graphic!
It is obvious that Walt Disney World does not adhere to Dan Flashes' pricing principles. Due to the intricate pattern, this Spirit Jersey ought to cost $1,749.
The Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular MagicBand is available here (OG variety). This costs $39.99 and comes in a limited edition of 3,780.
The Sanderson Sisters are depicted on one side of the design, and Jack Skellington and Zero from The Nightmare Before Christmas are shown on the other. On one side of the MagicBand, it reads "Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular" and "Magic Kingdom 2022." The words "Frightful Friends Unite" are on the reverse.
The following item is a black hoodie with vintage character illustrations of Mickey and his pals dressed for Halloween. Many of the products feature the same kind of fantastically dressed people. On the chest, the recognizable "D" insignia from Walt Disney World is tastefully embroidered.
This hoodie costs $54.99.
This is like a Spirit Jersey for canines. It may technically be worn by any animal with four legs of a proper size, not just dogs. For some reason, when our cat is dressed, he walks backwards.
The price is $39.99. However, because of the simpler pattern, this one is unquestionably worth less.
Another Spirit Jersey is presented here, this time with a simpler pattern and intended for smaller animals (in this case, children).
It costs $44.99. This is by far the greatest Spirit Jersey of the bunch, therefore it's a shame there isn't a version for adults.
This exhibit includes a button-down shirt, a t-shirt, and a countdown clock.
A hay bale is also present, but it is merely there for decoration.
The hoodie is $69.99, while the pants are $59.99. I am aware that loungewear might be pricey, but for these costs, you can purchase anything good from lululemon, Nike, or any other retailer that appeals to you.
The shirt costs $37.
The fantastic character models on this button-down cost $59.99.
I really like this, and $60 doesn't seem excessive given the sort of shirt, however the quality of these shirts, in my experience, is quite subpar. Boxy cutting, low quality materials, and shoddy construction. When it reaches the store, I'll buy something like this for about $25, but this design is so fantastic that it probably won't.
This Mickey soap dispenser sprays soap onto your palm in the form of Mickey.
It's a fun and useful gift-giving keepsake that costs $19.99. This one has my support.
This mug's clever pun allows it to be used for both coffee in the morning and beer in the evening (or vice versa, we don't discriminate).
This costs $34.99, which at first glance appears excessive until you take into account its adaptability. One cup to sip from all day long!
What this is intended to be, I have no idea. Perhaps it is just a bunch of plush animals and doesn't "do" anything? In an emergency, you could definitely use the cauldron as a cap.
The price is $40.
This shelf is filled with items from The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Since I presume that stuff is not brand-new, I'm not going through it separately. (Alternatively, it could be an adaptation of the identical designs they issue each year for this franchise.) Not my cup of tea, but clever of Disney to compete with Hot Topic for market share.
You can purchase this tote for $24.99 at Walt Disney World if you spend $40 on other items.
Since those amiable pumpkins are asking, I'll answer: this is unquestionably trick, not treat.
Either 3D glasses are necessary for viewing this Nightmare Before Christmas goods, or the factory miscalibrated the product.
Although I have no idea how much anything costs, it is clearly excessive.
This kind of $35 Mickey Mouse pumpkin hat is Sarah's favorite.
The image on the second hat appears to be a melting marshmallow acting out a well-known Raiders of the Lost Ark sequence. I'm not sure why he's grinning. It costs $30 for this one.
The price of this LED necklace is "orange" dollars.
At the moment, that equals $20. (For what it's worth, several of these items don't have published prices... hence, if they climb between now and October 2022, don't be shocked.)
Lastly, there are trick-or-treat buckets and other random items beside the door.
